Short, but sweet… Pause

Zadar, Croatia

Driving around Zadar was an absolute delight. The small stalls lined up next to each other, offering all the essential snacks, drinks, and even cigarettes, added to the local charm. The houses, randomly placed throughout the city, came in all shapes and sizes, from cosy cottages to grand manors. It was like stepping into a town from a game. Now, let's talk about driving in Croatia. Despite the taxi driver's warning at the airport, claiming it would be crazy, I found it to be surprisingly safe and enjoyable. The drivers seemed to have an unspoken understanding on the road. If there was ever an 'issue' among them, common sense prevailed, and a simple raise of the hand and a smile would make way for a smooth ride. No concerns raised, just good vibes all around. The taxi rides in Zadar were a whole other level of fun! The drivers had an impeccable taste in music, and they loved their English tunes. Country music, pop, hip hop – it didn't matter. The volume was just right, and the windows were rolled down, creating the perfect ambiance to keep the mood elevated. Every taxi driving experience was like a mini party on wheels!

Picture this: I'm chilling at my beachfront hotel and just as I arrive from the airport, the most gorgeous sunset unfolds before my eyes. The sky is on fire with vibrant shades of orange, red, and yellow as the giant glowing ball slowly dips below the horizon. It was straight-up mesmerising. I managed to capture the whole thing on video, complete with the silhouettes of a couple. It was pure magic!

I spent a solid four days in Zadar. The landscapes were gorgeous, and the vibes were peaceful, but here's the kicker: the mosquitos. Talk about a government mishap! They were trying to reduce the mosquito population but ended up doubling it instead, a waiter informed me. I got bit on the first night, but thankfully, it was the only encounter I had with those pesky creatures.
